Ptp Launch A New Range Of Rear Differentials

11th June 2010
PTP launch a new range of Mazda inline rear differentials for sale to the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).

The differential is available in a standard format or with LSD (limited slip differential).

To obtain maximum strength and reduce overall size the outer differential casing is manufactured from cast iron. To reduce weight Mazda simplified the construction of the differential and have adopted an aluminium alloy rear cover.

To enhance the feeling of direct drive when starting from a standstill and accelerating Mazda has rigidly attached the differential to the transmission by means of a power plant frame.

The LSD is better referred to as a Super-LSD because of its low torque bias ratio (2.0:1), utilising torque-sensing; this style of differential has been adopted to enhance all round performance and improved driving stability.

Tim Henderson said “The Mazda in line rear differential is what the small volume OEM’s have been waiting, its currently fitted to the MX5 which is one of the most popular sports car ever made”

As vehicles manufactured by the global automotive industry become older the demand for components by them is reduced and in time the quantities required by the UK and European smaller niche OE Manufactures may fall below the minimum order quantity’s that larger OE suppliers can cost effectively produce, this is where PTP can help.

Component Assembly and Engine Build

PTP now offer a low volume assembly facility that can take raw components and build them into complete assemblies, this unique service can not only be used to compliment the low volume component supply we offer; but over the years has been developed into a service that will save you time and money.
