Completion for the latest order of Tdi engines destined for Land Rover Parts has been met ahead of schedule by PTP against all the odds.
PTP have been supplying a fully dressed version of the 300 Tdi engine to a number of Niche specialist OE vehicle manufactures for a number of years. In 2006 mainstream production of the engine ceased.
PTP’s OE customers still had a call for the 300 Tdi, and for this reason PTP decided to start production of the engines in house. A bill of material was quickly created by PTP and production of the engines started again in early 2007. PTP have been building the Tdi since it ceased mainstream production at the Load Lane plant.
Later that year Land Rover Parts had a number of additional specialist small vehicles manufactures register an interest in purchasing fully dressed 300 Tdi’s, and because of our involvement Land Rover Parts requested that we build the engines on their behalf.
In November 2008, it became apparent that Land Rover Parts order deadlines needed to be moved forward and completed before the end of the year, leaving barely 6 weeks to produce a large quantity of engines. Against all the odds we were able to complete the build 2 weeks ahead of schedule.
