 The 300 TDi engine was designed for fitment into Land Rover Defenders, Discoverys and Range Rovers.
Arguably the 300TDI was one of the best diesel engines Land Rover ever designed and built, which is one of the reasons it has and continues to be so successful. Its ability to cope with arduous duty cycles both on and off road along with a history for reliability have made the 300 TDi a much sort after engine.
The engine is still manufactured by MWMI Motors who have been building it under licence for Land Rover for many years . MWMI are a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Navistar International, Navistar are a worldwide diesel engine manufacturer - and current leader in diesel engine technology and development in South America. Over a 56 year history MWMI have manufactured more than 3.6 million engines and the company also features a wide and complete range of engines – from 2.5 to 9.3 litre units.
